Here's a quick "go to" of general LIFE SHOULDS. Refer to them when in doubt about a circumstance. However, it's easiest to just go ahead and follow all of them, all of the time. Be sure to click on each Life Should for the run down...you know you want to.
- Be kind to ALL people. It's just good manners.
- Set a proper table for dinner. You don't have to be a housewife to do it. Whether you are single, in a relationship or part of a larger family, it is just a nice way to honor your life. Plus, it makes the occasional meal in front of the TV that much more naughty.
- Be humble in business. Everyone is replaceable.
- Be humble in life. No one, and I mean NO ONE (except a true victim) is entitled.
- Always, and I mean ALWAYS, do what you say you will do.
- Never take a person's unconditional love for granted. See #4.
- Never expect others to take care of you but, be thankful and grateful when they do.
- Respect the elderly. They were us once; and we will be them soon.
- As cliché as it is, never judge a book by it's cover. You miss out on so many interesting people and opportunities.
- Take public transportation. It's the only way to really get to know a city and its people.
- Exercise! No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Doesn't matter what you do - just move your body.
- Have a treat when you want it. Just not multiple and all the time.
- DRINK WATER!
- If you have kids, remember, they do not exist to complete you.
- Respect others boundaries even if you don't agree with them. Otherwise you are just being controlling.
- Keep a clean home. Whether you live in a big house, a tiny apartment, or are couch surfing, it matters.
- Be forgiving. It's just the right thing to do. I personally struggle with this one every single day because it's easier to hold grudges. So..., see below.
- It's ok to be a "work in progress".
- Never assume you know what is happening in another person's life. You are usually wrong and will end up feeling and looking foolish.
- Take pride in your appearance. It matters.
