Life Should #14
If you have kids, remember, they do not exist to complete you
We’ve all met those moms (and dads) that for some reason have forgotten they are raising an individual person that will grow up to, you hope, be a contributing member of society and not their own personal security blanket. Come on parents, be the support system for your kids, not the other way around. They are more likely to grow up respecting you. Frankly, it’s unseemly and so incredibly selfish when you choose to do otherwise.
[Thought to be considered with a piece of Yellow Cake, Chocolate Frosting & Sprinkles (with Vanilla Ice Cream if you want) – a good reminder that we are supposed to do things for and with our kids, not so they can please/reassure us.]
